Are You Struggling to Keep Up With Come Follow Me?

If you're struggling with keeping up with the Come Follow Me lessons each week, you're not alone. Before we get to the "What Wilt Thou Have Me to Do?" lesson helps, I want to just throw out some encouragement to you! Every little bit that you're able to do is like a piece in an amazing puzzle. It's not required that you do it all perfectly, only that you keep moving forward. I've been trying my best to keep up, and creating these lesson helps has certainly helped me do that, yet still I have days when I struggle and start to fall behind. Contemplate the title of this week's lesson,"What wilt thou have me to do?" and how it might apply to you if you've fallen behind.  The answer is clear, that all the Lord wants is for you to keep trying.

This week's lesson

I wanted to talk a little bit about this week's lesson.  I kind of zoomed through it this week because I'm really enjoying studying in Acts and I love the story of Saul/Paul. When Saul asked the question, "What Wilt Thou Have Me to Do?" I have to ask myself, have I ever asked that question?  Have you? Sometimes I think I'm really quick to ask the Lord for help, but slow to ask what He needs from me.  And even slower to follow up once I know.  I can think of one area where I'm really lacking because I KNOW what I'm supposed to do but I'm really slow to move.  That's with Ministering.  Anyone relate?

The Talk!

I love the talk that goes with this week's lesson so much!  If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, it's Waiting On The Road to Damascus by Elder Uchtdorf.  Do you ever feel like you're waiting for an experience similar to Saul's in order to fully believe? I was thinking about that as I read the talk, and I realized that sometimes I think I really AM waiting for or hoping for an experience like that.  But today as I was studying, I asked myself an important question that goes right along with that kind of hope: If it happened, am I prepared?  Would I, like Saul, ask "What wilt thou have me to do?" and then be ready to go do it?  I would hope that I am, but I don't think until we get there we'll really know how we would respond.  There is a quote from Elder Uchtdorf's talk that I loved.  

"The truth is, those who diligently seek to learn of Christ eventually will come to know Him. They will personally receive a divine portrait of the Master, although it most often comes in the form of a puzzle--one piece at a time.  Each individual piece may not be easily recognizable by itself; it may not be clear how it relates to the whole. Each piece helps us to see the big picture a little more clearly. Eventually, after enough pieces have been put together, we recognize the grand beauty of it all. Then, looking back on our experience, we see that the Savior had indeed come to be with us--not all at once but quietly, gently, almost unnoticed." Deiter F. Uchtdorf
